(L-R) Bert the Salmon; Liz Aspen, Parks and Recreation
commissioner; Scott Hageman, Woodinville City
Council member; Linda Sarpy, Parks and Recreation
commissioner; and Robert Vogt, Parks and Recreation
Commission chair, took part in the Oct. 6 grand
opening celebration of the Rotary Community Park
Boardwalk.
On Oct. 6, the City of Woodinville
formally celebrated the opening of the Rotary
Community
Park Boardwalk.
The boardwalk and gravel trail are approximately
2,900 feet long and provide views of Little
Bear Creek and its wetland habitat.
The opening coincided with salmon spawning
season so visitors, aided by naturalist/salmon
stations, could watch the fish as they
came up the creek. The boardwalk, across
the street from Woodinville High School,
has won national recognition through its
use of recycled materials and construction
techniques that prevent damage to the sensitive
creekside environment.
The location for the salmon viewing at
Rotary Community Park Boardwalk and Trail
is at 19518 – 136th Ave. N.E. For
more information, call 425-398-9327 or
