Federal
investigators are continuing to study the remains
of the airplane that crashed the night of Oct.
7, killing the pilot and nine sky divers. The
plane went down in the White Pass area.
The
group of sky divers was aboard a single-engine
Cessna 208B Grand Caravan owned by Kapowsin
Air Sports based in Shelton. They were
returning from a trip to Star, Idaho, near
Boise. A
hunter in the area reported noticing a
low-flying plane with possible engine trouble,
then
heard a crash. The plane was found 45 miles
west of Yakima at about 4,300 feet elevation.
Investigators said the plane had turned
around before hitting the ground.
Most of the sky divers were reported to
be active in the sky diving community at
Harvey Field in Snohomish.
Casey Craig of Bothell was among the dead.
Other victims were Jeff Ross, Landon Atkin
and pilot Phil Kibler, all of Snohomish,
Bryan Jones of Redmond, Andrew Smith and
Cecil Eisner of Lake Stevens, Michelle Barker
of Kirkland, Hollie Rasberry of Bellingham
and Ralph Abdo of Issaquah.
A memorial service is planned to take place
at Harvey Field but a date has not yet been
set.
