At
TOP Food & Drug Oct. 21
The famed Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will celebrate
its 71st anniversary with stops at local TOP
Food & Drug stores. The Wienermobile will
be at Woodinville TOP Food & Drug, 17641
Garden Way N.E., from 9-11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct.
21.
The unique vehicle depicts a hot dog resting
on a lightly toasted bun. The Wienermobile is
27 feet long and 11 feet high with a weight
of 14,000 pounds.
Free Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistles, unique because
of their four holes, will be distributed at
each site.
“Children and adults enjoy seeing what
is probably the most recognizable vehicle in
the country,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson
for Haggen stores.
The first Wienermobile was built in 1936 and
cruised the streets of Chicago. Since then,
Wienermobiles have traveled throughout the United
States and visited Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico
and Spain. The current version weighs the equivalent
of 1 million hot dogs and has room for six people
– in mustard-and ketchup-colored seats,
of course.
