Karen Amundson of Woodinville has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2007 semester at Cumberland University. Amundson is a general business major.

Drew Schoentrup, a freshman from Woodinville, was named to the Gonzaga University President’s List for fall semester 2007. Students must earn a 3.7 or better grade-point average to be listed. Schoentrup is a 2007 graduate of Woodinville High School.

Katherine Copeland of Redmond has been named to the Dean’s List or the 2007 fall semester at Trinity University.

Devon Gilliland, a sophomore at Western Washington University, has been named to the President’s List for Fall Quarter 2007. Devon is majoring in environmental policy and planning, and is also a member of the WWU Vikings Varsity Cheer Squad.

Hans Daniel Stroo, a 2006 Woodinville High School graduate, was initiated into the Western Washington University chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Stroo is a sophomore majoring in political science and minoring in communications. He recently returned from a Model UN conference in Vancouber, British Columbia representing WWU.

Cascadia Community College and the University of Washington Bothell have been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Cascadia was honored for its exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth. Last September, the college received a grant of $10,000 from Learn and Serve America to continue integrating community service efforts into coursework. Cascadia is also involved in the AmeriCorps Retention Project, in which AmeriCorps volunteers work with colleges and universities to help service-learning students mentor disadvantaged high school students and encourage them to pursue higher education opportunities.

UWB was recognized for its leadership in a variety of community-based service learning projects including Space Huskies, Restoration Ecology Network, Northshore Family Center programs, Tent City 4 collaboration, the Juanita Elementary Literacy Project.
