Larry Casper Huber, 67, “artist extrodinare” passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 10, 2008. Larry was born on July 21, 1940, in Devils Lake, N.D., to Casper Joseph Huber and Francis Veronica (Kambietz) Huber. Preceding him in death were his father, Casper J. Huber; his sister, Diane A. (Huber) Robison; and his son, Cass D. Huber.
Larry and his family moved from Devils Lake, N.D., to Yakima in the late 1940s.
In his early 20s he moved to Seattle, then bought his first house in Alderwood Manor. He work for Wight’s Nursery in Lynnwood for several years, then became a Washington State Certified Nurseryman and started a business known as “Greentree Landscapes” in the late 1970s.He bought some property and moved to Woodinville where he pursued his career in landscaping and art. Larry had a great fondness and love for nature and art. His residence in Woodinville in springtime reflected all he had done.
He was truly a great artist with a love of painting, drawing, and assemblage. Larry could turn throw-away objects - scrap metal, wire, wood, plastics - into truly amazing art. He had a love for animals too; as many of them have passed on he knows all their names.
In 2002 he moved to Bow, Wash., where he retired and pursued his dream in art.
Larry and his wife Maria have displayed their artwork all over the region in galleries and art shows.
The last show was the Peace Art Show 2007 in Mt. Vernon on their anniversary, April 7-14, 2007. Some of his artwork is still on display at Studio 113 in Woodinville. Larry was well-known among landscape clientele and artists from all around the Puget Sound region.
Larry is survived by his mother, Francis (Kambietz) Huber of Yakima; his wife, Marcia (Gust) Huber of Bow; his son Richard and Charleen Huber of Snohomish; his daughters, Nita Gardner of Puyallup, Kay Arterburn of Snohomish; his grandchildren, Nickole, Krystal, Amanda, Jacob, Joel, Mia, Arielle, Chase, Makara; his great-grandchildren, Ilene, Michael, Ricky, Shayla, Nathan; and also his pets, Dolly and Kiddo.
There will be a memorial service in April 2008 in springtime when the flowers are blooming at his residence in Bow.
