I thought 2009 was going to be a great year, just like the past two wonderful years I had.
I had met my “human” at Homeward two years ago, and we both needed each other. This sad woman had just lost her husband and I had lost my hearing.
I had been at the shelter because my previous owners were afraid that their dogs would hurt me. You see, I lost my hearing during a surgery at the vets. I could no longer hear the menacing dogs and I was scared all of the time.
My new home with my sad friend was great — I was the only cat and she was such a great human “servant.” giving me a nice warm lap, tasty treats and a screened porch from which to look out on the world. She overlooked the fact that I have a sometimes loud voice (being deaf, I had to make sure she heard my every request!)
She told me I filled a big void in her life. We were quite a pair until she lost her job and had to move far away to live with her children. They had dogs and cats and we both knew that I wouldn’t fit in.
We sadly said farewell to each other and now I am looking for a new human companion.
I am a stunning cat. I have greenish blue eyes and am a beautifully marked Bengal. Although I am 11 years old I don’t look a day over 2! I adore being petted and lavished with attention and I love my cat naps. Surely there is a human out there just ready to fall for my charming ways. Let’s usher in 2009 together with catnip and champagne. I guarantee it will be a much better year for both of us!
