With deepest sorrow Teresa Banks-Peterson, 54, joined her grandparents in heaven on October 29, 2016. Born in Aberdeen, Wash. on February 5, 1962 to Jim and Mary Banks of Redmond, Wash., sister to Jimmy (Megan), Shelly, Dean (Beth) and Katie (Ed).
Teresa leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty years, Christopher Peterson, as well as her two children Brittany and Alex who she loved and cherished dearly. In 1987 she met Christopher Peterson who shared her love of travel, outdoors, skiing, and adventure. They spent several years in Kirkland, WA, twelve years in Napa, California and back to Woodinville four years ago to be closer to her family and friends which meant more to her than anything.
Teresa attended Ben Rush Elementary, Rose Hill Junior High and Lake Washington High School. She graduated with the class of 1980 from LWHS and a few years later, started her career at Sanofi Diagnostics (now owned by Bio-Rad Laboratories.) While with Bio-Rad, Teresa went back to school to get her BA and Masters. She was hard working, loved her family, and never gave up!
She was surrounded by several nieces and nephews that loved her smile, personality and patience. They will miss her dearly. Her network of coworkers and friends will also miss her. They were from all over the world. Shannon and Kaye were longtime friends and loved her immensely. Teresa will be missed by all!
There will be a private service for close family and friends in late November. A celebration of Teresa’s life is TBA for January 2017.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Teresa’s honor to either Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org or to Gene & Irene Wockner Hospice Center.
