Gabriel Luis Marcelo 12/20/1989 to 01/14/2017

Gabriel was born in Kirkland and lived in Woodinville for most of his life. He had a severe congenital heart condition that could not be repaired and it ultimately took his life on January 14, 2017 at home.  Gabriel was a graduate of the Northshore Homeschool Network. He studied Culinary Arts, enjoyed gaming and Legos and most of all his family and friends. He could be seen at Target and Safeway where the scooter made it possible for him to get around by himself instead of the wheelchair. He participated in a fundraising event at Cold Stone Creamery for Make a Wish when he was 14. He got his wish to go to Lego Land and Disneyland. Gabriel worked at his mom’s office (The Woodinville License Agency) up until a couple of years ago when his heart condition got worse. Gabriel was deeply loved by his family: his mother Anita Marcelo; his father Jaime Marcelo and stepmother Marsha Turner of Woodinville; brother Jaime Marcelo (Cristina Preda) of Brooklyn, NY; sister Gina McLaughlin (Dave) of Elk Grove, CA; sister Lisa Villard (Marco) of Vienna, Austria; sister Deanna Ping of Palo Alto, CA; niece Shayla McLaughlin; nephews Dawson McLaughlin and Hugo Villard; grandmother Adela Lopez; uncle Jeff Moreno of Woodinville; many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout California, Oregon and worldwide. Remembrances can be made to The Children’s Heart Research Guild at: https://www.childrensheartresearchguild.org/. This is “The Gabriel Project.”
