Surrounded by beautiful evergreen trees in her parents’ backyard, Emily Suzanne Stefansson married Jason Lee Edwards on Aug. 2, 2014.
The “flower dog” Brindy walked down the aisle with Jason to begin the ceremony. The maid of honor was Allison Rossman and bridesmaids were Taylor Brown, Karen Taylor and Tasha Ritter.
The best man was Jay Phillips and groomsmen were Travis Burrell, Dave Loewensteiner, and Matthew Stefansson.
The bride is the daughter of John and Joanie Stefansson of Woodinville. She is a 2006 graduate of Woodinville High School and the Ocean Research College Academy and a 2008 graduate of Western Washington University. Emily received her master’s degree in marine science in 2011 from the University of Maryland. She is currently employed as a marine biologist for Oregon State University at their Hatfield Marine Science Center.
The groom is the son of Wayne and Robin Edwards of Macclesfield, North Carolina. He is a 2005 graduate of North Carolina State University. Jason also received his master’s degree in marine science from the University of Maryland, where the couple met. He is currently employed as a fisheries biologist with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
After a honeymoon in the San Juan Islands the couple returned home to Newport, Oregon.
