SAS/Rotary Skateboard Challenge

The 15th Annual Woodinville SAS/Rotary Skateboard Challenge held at Rotary Community Park Saturday the 11th of Aug., was a huge success!
SAS KidYoung skater - Nels “Gnarls” Rosen (Courtesy photo)In spite of a few scattered showers, skateboarders from around the area, showed up to compete in various divisions, for huge prize bags from industry shops and sponsors as well as local businesses. Event coordinator and producer Pam Miller, of Sisters in Action Sports (SAS), gathered event sponsors, skateboarders, live art, music and a special appearance of Patti McGee, first pro skateboarder in history, to make this day over the top this year.
At the Rotary Club of Woodinville tent, pizza, chips, kind bars, drinks and The Maltby Cafe cinnamon rolls raised donations for Jaimeson Jewels a local nonprofit raising awareness and giving education about testicular cancer.
Woodinville Rotary Community Services Director Tim House presented $300 and a plaque for best trick over the legionary car obstacle to Zach Putt. Adding to the prize stoke were the Big Roll Best Trick awards, $20 and prized cinnamon rolls from The Maltby Cafe, given to the stand out trick in every division.
