Need another reason to love summer? For the eighth year in a row, downtown Snohomish merchants will host wine tastings in their stores on second Saturdays June through September. “Sunsets in Snohomish” wine walk events take place on June 9, July 14, August 11 and September 8, from 4-8 p.m. Proceeds support downtown revitalization and beautification projects.
June 9 marks the first of the monthly events in 2018. Always a “bring-your-own-glass” event, advance tickets are $25.00, which includes eight tastes of wine and a $10 voucher to purchase bottles of wine. Tickets at the door are $30.00. Extra tastes can be purchased for only $1.50 each. For all those collectors out there, commemorative wine glasses can now be purchased at each event for only $10. “How fun is it to buy your glass in June and use it all summer long,” said event organizer Debbie Carlson-Gould. “We’re also offering bottle totes free with the purchase of two bottles of wine. Boom! It’s easy to carry home your favorite wines.” First timers will be joining the fun this year: Armstrong Family Winery, Truth Teller Winery, Long Cellars, DeLille Cellars, and Eternal Wines.
More than wine tasting: a variety of stores stay open late for evening shoppers, and selected restaurants offer dining specials for event guests. Take a detour along the riverfront trail for scenic vistas and glimpses of skydivers and hot air balloons. Meander through 150-year-old streets and surround yourself with Northwest history.
