Harry E. Mathewson, born January 16, 1924 in Wethersfield, Connecticut passed away May 23, 2019 at his residence in Woodinville, Washington. Harry is survived by his loving wife Julia T. Mathewson of 73 years; children: John & Jane Mathewson, Mary Kinsel-Eubank & Michael Eubank,  and Linda Beatty; 5 grandsons & 1 granddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Harry served 30 years in the Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Harry and Julia retired to Woodinville, WA, where they built their home 50 years ago.

Harry lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed many family get-togethers, boating, clamming, and life in general. Harry’s life has often been characterized as one of service - 30 years in the Navy, active member of the Catholic Church, 45 years as a Knights of Columbus member serving as a Grand Knight twice, and recognized by the Knights of Columbus with the Family of the Year Award. Whenever anyone, whether family, friend or stranger needed help, Harry was always there. Ask any of the grandchildren about Grandpa Harry and you are in for long stories about pinnacle, fishing, hunting, boating, repairing things around the house or the many bicycles, wagons or toys that he helped them repair. They will tell you that if ever there were a true handyman, Harry was the man.

Rosary was held June 3, 2019  and services were held June 4, 2019 at St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church with Knights of Columbus honors.  Burial will be held at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, Shoreline, WA with military honors.
Pall bearers are grandsons JW and Matt Beatty; James Kinsel, Michael and David Mathewson,  and great-grandson Michael Mathewson.
