Nadine Huntley, beloved spouse, parent and friend, died at the age of 57 at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 due to complications of cancer.
Nadine is survived by her spouse Barbara Garnish. They met when working together at AT&T and their friendship blossomed into love. Though Nadine had no biological children, she took an active role in raising and loving Declan Garnish-Batten. Declan and Nadine shared a passion for cooking and spent many happy hours working on, deliberating, debating and enjoying all aspects of the culinary arts.
Nadine is sorely missed by Barbara’s sister, Gail Bennett, Gail’s husband Dan, and their children Lauren and Thomas, with whom Nadine had a special closeness; Barbara’s brother, JC Garnish, his wife, Melissa and their two daughters, Lindsay and Chloe; and her in- laws, Kay and Jack Garnish.
Nadine will also be greatly missed by her many friends, co-workers and neighbors. One co-worker described her as “a unique and beautiful soul. . . not a day went by that she was not talked of with nothing but admiration and love.”
From a young age, Nadine had a passion for house and garden decorating and design. She brought to life the vision for their current home and was continually designing and redesigning their surrounding gardens.
Nadine attended Capuchino High School in the San Francisco Bay area. She was briefly married to Harold Wood Huntley from 1982-84. Nadine found her true soul mate and the love of her life at age 42, when she met Barbara Garnish. They married in 2014 surrounded by friends and family.
Nadine’s professional career began in Silicon Valley at a printed circuit board manufacturer, Vantronic. She moved to the Seattle area in 1995 and started working for McCaw Cellular where she managed the installation of phones on airplanes. In 2002, Nadine joined AT&T where she served as a Vendor Manager and later a Technical Project Manager.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nadine’s name to one of her favorite charities: PAWS or Homeward Pet. We wish Nadine a beautiful garden filled with love, listening, and peace.
