Charlene Rae Short, 69, was taken by the Lord suddenly on May 29, 2019.  She is survived by her loving husband, Steve of almost 50 years, 5 children, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was born and raised in Wilbur, WA where she met her husband.   Charlene was a resident of Carnation since 1980 and she operated Morning Star Daycare out of her home for several years.  She attended Western Washington University and the University of Washington.  She raised 5 children and finished her college education after the age of 40.  Charlene earned her teaching degree and taught in the Riverview School District for over 25 years.  Needless to say, she touched many lives and spared no one her sincere care and attention.

Charlene was an incredible loving wife, mother, grandmother and a true friend to many.  Most importantly, she was beloved of God.  In His merciful wisdom, He swept Charlene’s spirit off this earth without a moment’s notice.  Charlene dedicated her life to serving others and being a true warrior for our Savior Jesus Christ as she served along with her husband as a pastor in the church.  She has been described as brave, caring, energetic, fun, smart and above all capable of showing sincere love to others.  We will truly miss our beloved Charlene, but we are comforted by the fact that she is so happy to be in the Glory of God and He is so glad to have her.

Service was held for Charlene’s life on Saturday, June 22 at McDonald Park.
