Cowboy POWCowboy is a handsome 9-year-old dog who sports a beautiful long black coat. He was previously living at an Eastern Washington sanctuary, but found himself needing a new home after a building there was destroyed by fire.  Now he’s excited to be at Homeward Pet, warm and safe, with a renewed hope for finding his forever home.

Cowboy is a personable and gentle boy who tips the scales at 89 pounds. Needing to lose about 20 of those pounds, he’s looking forward to meeting someone who will provide him with daily exercise and a healthy and regulated diet.

As a youngster, Cowboy was attacked by a cougar and lost one of his legs. He enjoys walking just as much as any other dog, and being a tripod doesn’t seem to slow him down a bit. Slippery floors and flights of stairs are harder for him to navigate, so he would appreciate a single story home with carpet or runners for traction.

Cowboy enjoys the company of other dogs and cats, and would be best suited for kids who are over 12 years old. He prefers children who are old enough or understand that he likes to be treated gently and respectfully.

A favorite of staff and volunteers alike, Cowboy will be a fantastic addition to a happy home! He absolutely loves people and he’s ready to assume his role as the family dog. He has wonderful house manners, a quiet disposition, and is easy to care for in general. He’s one of a kind and very special! Learn more about him on his foster family’s blog at www.abigailstails.blogspot.com.

Brittney’s story will break your heart. Her loving owner was in final stages of cancer and was unable to care for her any longer.

At a time when she probably needed the comfort of her cat the most, the owner had to say goodbye to her sweet Siamese kitty.

Unfortunately, she was surrendered to a shelter in eastern Washington which experienced a bad fire in their wood stove two weeks prior.

Brittney lived in a building without heat until she was transferred to Homeward Pet. This blue-eyed seven- year-old was a little “shell shocked” when she first arrived but soon was soliciting attention from everyone. This sweet kitty deserves a wonderful new chapter to her life and we are hoping just the right person will come in and provide that for her.Come to Homeward Pet to meet Brittney!  We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.

Our shelter is open for visitors between  noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

While most of us may expect to outlive our pets, it’s important to arrange care for them as you would for the rest of your family.  Through our Companion Legacy Program, Homeward Pet will see that your pet is well cared for while we find them the best and most appropriate new home. For more information or guidance in arranging care for your pets, visit our website at http://www.homewardpet.org/programs/companionLegacy.html.

MegsPOWMegs is a playful young dog who was found as a stray in the Everett area.

After her owners could not be found, she came to Homeward Pet for a second chance at finding a home.

Megs is an eight-month-old adolescent who is very curious about the world around her and is eager to explore.

She weighs 48 pounds and is growing fast.

Now is the time for her new owner to enroll her in training classes, included with every adoption from Homeward Pet, that will help her develop into a well rounded adult.

She’s extremely intelligent and she learns very quickly, so the sky is the limit for her.

Megs is a high energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise and a fenced yard.

She also needs to stay busy and engaged to remain happy and satisfied.

Some house training work and slow introductions to new dogs may be necessary.

She hasn’t been around cats before, and would be best suited for kids over eight years old who are sturdy enough to handle her rambunctious nature.

Megs has great potential and she’ll be a fantastic dog for someone who is willing to provide her with structure and guidance. This active and outgoing sweetheart is ready to settle in and love to her heart’s content. All she needs is a chance to prove herself to some lucky person. Come to Homeward Pet to meet Megs!

We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.  Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  See all our adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and puppies at www.homewardpet.org.

If you’re not ready to add a pet to your family, you can still help homeless animals like Megs by making a food donation to Homeward Pet.

Maynard POWfrom Homeward Pet Adoption

This substantial kitty is very patiently waiting here at Homeward Pet for his forever home.

Unfortunately, his previous owner moved away and just left this poor boy behind with another kitty named Dobie.

Those of you old enough to remember the Dobie Gillis show on television in the early 60s will remember this kitty’s namesake, Maynard G. Krebs. Maynard G. Krebs was a “beatnik” but we’re pretty sure this handsome orange boy doesn’t know what that is!

Maynard weighed in at 20 pounds upon arriving at Homeward Pet. We have him on a diet and he is currently living in the Douceur Cat Colony here, in hopes of getting some well needed exercise. This fluffy guy is a total laid-back sweetheart. We would love to see this five-year-old “couch-potato” cat go to a home with an owner who will be committed to Maynard’s New Year’s resolution - to get in shape!

Come to Homeward Pet to meet Maynard!

We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.  Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

BessiePOWBessie is a small dog who was rescued in the nick of time from an overcrowded Los Angeles area shelter. She managed to find safety at Homeward Pet, and now she’s patiently waiting for her new home. At five years old and 14 pounds, Bessie is friendly and is just now learning about how many caring people there are in this world.

She needs someone who will continue to work on socialization and house training with her, and most of all teach her about how much fun being a real dog can be.

Another dog in the home would be very beneficial for Bessie. She is not comfortable with children at this time, so she’s looking for a home with older teenagers and adults who can take things slowly with her.

Bessie is just begging for a second chance with someone who will see how much potential she has. This little darling can’t wait to make a new friend. Is it you?

Come to Homeward Pet to meet Bessie! We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.

Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. See all our adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and puppies at www.homewardpet.org. Drop off a dog or cat food donation at Homeward Pet between 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
