Tessi_1Meet Tessi! She’s a special dog who’s looking for a special owner. Our 10- month-old darling came to Homeward with two of her siblings after they were found abandoned in the Yakima Valley area. Upon arrival, it was clear that Tessi needed socialization and attention that she had previously been deprived of. She has spent most of her youth in a loving foster home being spoiled and learning about all the great things this world has to offer a dog. Although sometimes timid, Tessi has made great progress when it comes to meeting new people and being introduced to new situations.

Tessi is learning to enjoy new things every day, such as car rides, daily walks and romping in the yard with her dog friends. She is accustomed to having a fenced yard and will require one in her new home. This will allow her to get out and really stretch her legs on a regular basis. She’s not ready for dog parks yet but could be a future candidate with the right training and socialization. Tessi needs someone who is dedicated to putting in work in this area so she can reach her full potential.

Although still growing, she is approaching her adult size. She’ll be a medium sized girl, weighing in the neighborhood of 55 pounds.

Being a border collie mix, she exhibits some classic traits. She’s super sweet, inquisitive and eager to please. Tessi is also a very clever dog who learns fast and follows direction well. She needs to slowly acclimate to children, so it’s best that she finds a home with older kids and adults at this time. She is feline friendly and would really enjoy sharing a home with a confident dog who can serve as a mentor. Tessi is a loving and happy dog who has made great strides, but she needs to find her forever person soon. She’s longs for the day she can call someone her very own, for all time. Won’t you consider making her your next dog?

Although Tessi currently resides in a foster home, meet and greets can be arranged for qualified applicants upon request. Please visit our website to access an adoption application and to learn more about our adoption process.
