In Loving Memory of Richard Brown
April 22, 1935 – October 9, 2019
Richard “Dick” Brown, 84, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2019 near his home in Bothell, WA. He was born April 22, 1935, to Milo and Mae (Morton) Brown in Fairmont, Minnesota.
Dick grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa and playing golf was in his DNA. One of his first jobs was at Brooks Golf Course in Okoboji, Iowa where Ben Snead and Ben Hogan would play. He would later caddie for Ben Hogan and Arnold Palmer.
Dick was a hardworking salesman, spending 20 years working for Timex as a District Sales Manager. He also worked for Comber and Hanby, and the Woodinville Weekly. He was also a member of the US Army, spending most of that time in Japan.
Dick married Sharry Lindbeck on June 4th, 1966. They loved to travel together and had many adventures traveling to Europe, Asia. They also enjoyed annual family vacations to Lake Chelan. Nice weekends were spent up at Camano Island enjoying time at the beach.
Sharry and Dick built a wonderful life together in Woodinville, Wash., where they raised their children. Dick was a Husky and Seahawks season ticket holder. He also loved the WSU Cougs when daughter Amy was around.
Dick is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sharry; son Michael Brown and his wife Amy; Amy Brown Goolsby and her husband Rob; grandchildren Keller and Hailey Brown; Sister Delores and her husband Don; 5 loving Nieces; and Sister-in-law Sandi.
He will be truly missed by all family and friends. Special thank you to Kaiser Permanente Hospice team, and the staff at Whispering Meadows in Bothell, Wash.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held November, 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the Club House at Wandering Creek. The address is 831 240th St. SW, Bothell, Wash. Let’s come together to share stories, laugh, reminisce, and spend time together.
