The Junction – Woodinville’s Perfect Sampler

  • Written by Woodinville Wine Country

With so many winemakers, microbrewers, cideries and distillers now making their home in Woodinville, it can be hard to choose where to begin tasting. For visitors and locals alike, a perfect place to start is the Junction. Located just north of North Woodinville Way on 144th Avenue, the Junction contains all the essential elements of the Woodinville experience within a short stroll. Home to six wineries, a microbrewery, a distillery and a cidery, there’s something here for every imbibing inclination, and plenty of parking that allows you to easily ditch the car and explore on foot. The buildings were originally designed as an auto complex, and the large garage doors roll up and back to give the entire neighborhood an open-air feel. Tables, patrons and tasting flow seamlessly to the outdoors, lending a casual, sidewalk café atmosphere.

With a full menu of Woodinville’s signature beverages on offer, the Junction is a taste destination all its own, but it also makes a perfect launch pad for a trip to the Warehouse Wine District further down the hill. Junction winemakers include Armstrong, Gard, Welcome Road, Sol Stone, Beaumont and Five Star Cellars. Dirty Bucket Brewing, Locust Cidery and Schnapsleiche Spirits round out the beverage-making community. For plenty of tasty appetizers, finger food, gourmet burgers and shakes there is Shake ‘N Go. They will even deliver to all of The Junction locations.

All Junction artisans are small, family-run operations, so you’ll get a first-hand flavor for the care and work that go into crafting their delicious creations. Armstrong, for example, makes their wine right on premises, giving visitors an up-close-and-personal experience of the entire process—especially during the fall crush season. The shared sense of community and craftsmanship fosters a friendly, cooperative atmosphere where all the proprietors lend each other a helping hand to make the beverages and the neighborhood a memorable experience for all.

Other Woodinville districts may have bigger wineries and more of them, but for variety, atmosphere and convenience, you won’t find a better tasting experience than this small-scale gem. Whether you have an hour or an entire afternoon, the Junction has just the right ingredients to let you savor everything that makes Woodinville so special.
