The food world is finally waking up to Woodinville. While our wines get most of the attention, our chefs and restaurants have been busy cooking up a growing reputation all their own.
For the latest mouth-watering proof, look no further than the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour event recently hosted by Novelty Hill-Januik Winery and their recongnized executive chef, Seth Fernald. This annual dinner series brings the tastes and experiences of the James Beard House in New York City to select locations across the country. The sold-out evening began with a wine reception followed by a one-night-only, multi-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Fernald and a renowned group of bicoastal and featured Northwest chefs. All courses were paired with Novelty Hill and Januik wines, and the meal concluded with a decadent dessert and a Q&A session with the chefs.
It was an evening to remember for anyone lucky enough to score tickets. But the rest of us have something to remember too: A Woodinville stop on the James Beard Tour speaks volumes about the caliber of local chefs like Fernald, the kitchens they’ve created, and the fine cuisine that awaits diners here every night of the year. It’s enough to make us all feel like celebrities.
