GRADUATES

Ashley E. Ehlert of Woodinville graduated from Clemson University (Clemson, SC) with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences .

Jacob Alexander Jensen of Woodinville graduated from Baylor University (Waco, TX) with a BS in Education, Health Science Studies

Harrison Van Til graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gonzaga University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He was a 2013 graduate from Woodinville High School.

Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT announced recent graduates including:
Christina Gonzalez-Gandolfi of Woodinville graduated with a BA in Neuroscience & Behavior.
Julia Indivero of Mill Creek graduated with a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies.

DEAN'S LIST & AWARDs

Drury University (Springfield, MO) announced that Andrew Thomas Hastings of Woodinville, WA earned recognition on the Dean’s List.

Northeastern University in Boston, MA announces that the following local residents received Dean's List honors:
Payton Schenck from Woodinville is studying Criminal Justice.
David Padawer from Redmond is majoring in Computer Science.
And Abigale Purvis from Woodinville.

Thomas Geffner of Bothell, Washington, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Geffner was initiated at Portland State University.


EAGLE SCOUT

Wesley Brown, 17, of Boy Scout Troop 909, has earned his Eagle Scout award.

To earn Scouting’s highest award, Wesley had to earn 32 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project.

Wesley’s service project took place at Bear Creek Community Church in Woodinville. Leading scouts and adults, Wesley built an outdoor fire circle.

WA AEROSPACE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Johann Fernando of Eastside Catholic High School has been accepted into the Washington Aerospace Scholars Summer Residency at The Museum of Flight in Seattle.
Washington Aerospace Scholars Program provides opportunities for Washington state high school students to explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Over $17.2 million dollars in scholarship money was offered to the graduating class of 2017 from the Archbishop Murphy High School. At last week’s assembly, the senior class was recognized for their achievements throughout high school. Several students received special recognition for their achievements in athletics, service, academics, and more—including National Merit Commended Scholars, Teresa Barron, Bradley Newman, and Johnathan Reed and National Merit Finalist Trevor Johnston.

Timbercrest Junior High’s 9th grade team, “The Red Hot Chili Steppers,” held a carwash recently where the Woodinville community, and the weather, were fantastic in their support. 

The team raised $480.00 in donations during 4 hours of car washing for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event.

LACROSSE

Congratulations to WHS Lacrosse players that were named to the 2017 KingCo All Star Team: Jaren Andreotti (Sr), Andrew Ng (Jr) and TJ Hirai (Sr). Not pictured is Sam Farrington (Sr.)

They played in a KingCo vs. Metro All Stars game at Starfire Arena on May 27th. KingCo beat Metro by one goal with TJ Hirai leading KingCo to the win with 5 goals. The WHS Lacrosse Team will play in the regional Summer Solstice Tournament June 10-11 at Marymoor Park. Come out to cheer on the Falcons!

The Woodinville Falcons 14U Pony League team won the Kirkland Memorial Weekend Tournament at Lee Johnson Field last week.
