Woodinville resident will be instructing “Discovering Paths to Songwriting”

Woodinville resident Steven Franz will be instructing “Discovering Paths to Songwriting” at Music Works Northwest in Bellevue March 18 and 25.

The two-weekend workshop is open to all musical levels and recommended for teens to adults. At the end of the workshop, local songwriters will present an intimate “Songwriters in the Round” sharing insights into their songwriting process.

Franz grew up in a musical family in Miami, Florida learning to sing and play piano at an early age. He graduated from New World High School of the Arts and attended Berklee College of Music. In 2003 and 2007 Franz self-produced two albums, which received independent music award nominations, as well as a John Lennon Songwriting Honorable Mention for his song “Out Into the Distance.” He has also sung with the Seattle Symphony Chorale since 2006.

Music Works Northwest is a non-profit community music school in Bellevue offering music lessons, music therapy and performance experiences for all ages. Its mission is to change lives through accessible music education and experiences.
