Patrick Sorensen Appointed as New Water District General Manager

The Board of Commissioners announced at the May 15, 2018 Regular Board Meeting the hiring of Mr. Patrick Sorensen as the new District General Manager.  Mr. Sorensen, formally the General Manager for Lake Whatcom Water & Sewer District in Bellingham, Washington started May 31, 2018.

Mr. Sorensen has worked in local government for the past 33 years serving Oregon, Nevada, and Utah, including 21 years in Washington State.  This includes 22 years in various management roles including that of Deputy City Manager, City Manager, Deputy General Manager and General Manager for public water and sewer utilities.  

Mr. Sorensen has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography/Urban Planning from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Utah.  In addition, he has taken post graduate course work in public management earning a public executive certification from the University of Washington in Seattle.  Mr. Sorensen is a Credentialed Manager in the International City/County Management Association.
