The Woodinville Arts Alliance is launching a new program for Woodinville teens as part of its mission to promote the integration and appreciation of art in the day-to-day life of the community. For the last two years, they have held many successful events such as the Studio Tour, Celebrate Woodinville and others. “Educating and inspiring our youth is a passion for many of our members,” says Woodinville Arts Alliance board member, Torrey Edwards, “and we are excited to launch this new program.”
During the mentorship program, 10-15 Woodinville teens, ages 14-18 years old will learn important skills from Woodinville Arts Alliance mentors in planning and producing a Youth Artist Exhibition that will be open to youth of all ages. The exhibition will be held September 21-23 at 21Acres. Teens will develop creative skills, leadership experience and opportunities for their peers to engage with the arts.
Throughout the year this program will give teens an opportunity to learn about local creative businesses. The Woodinville Arts Alliance is currently taking applications from teens for this program until February 18th. Local businesses who are interested in fostering creativity in local teens are encouraged sponsor or assist with the program.
