“Pink” & Dorothy Marty Celebrate 75 Years

Dorothy Marty has always had spirit. She told everyone at her and Pink’s anniversary party five years ago, “We’ll see you all back here in five years for our 75th!” And she was right!
Pink and Dorothy Marty will celebrate their 75th Wedding Anniversary at an open house on Saturday, March 23rd from 2-5 p.m. at the Monroe Swiss Hall located at 18500 Tualco Road. All friends and family are welcome to join the celebration.
They met in Monroe as teenagers and were married in Snohomish on March 18, 1944. They’ve lived all their married life on the family farm in Duvall, and each morning still open their curtains to overlook the farm, the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley and the town they love.  Back in the day, they raised their five children there, which led to 13 grandkids, 22 great grandkids (with two more on the way, one being their first great, great!) The entire family totals 61, making it quite a gathering at “the farm” when they all go home for the holidays! Pink and Dorothy sit back in all the craziness and she will say to him, “We started all this…”
After retiring from dairy farming in 1974, they crop farmed for 10 years and then sold the farm, keeping their farmhouse on the hill. They’ve led a very active life enjoying motorhome camping, fishing, clam digging, crabbing, gardening, and spending weekly coffee & dinner dates with family and friends. They are longtime members of the Monroe Swiss Club, Monroe Eagles, and the Sno-Valley and Monroe Senior Centers.
Their love and “don’t give up” commitment has kept them together all these years, and always will. Happy 75th Anniversary, Mom & Dad and Grandma & Grandpa… We love you!
