Senior Teana Heys turned in another memorable performance to help lead the Falcons to a win and compile an unblemished 9-0 record in the KingCo Conference.
“We had an outstanding final meet of the regular season. Hitting that 180 mark as a team is always our goal and it gives us added confidence as we move into the postseason meets,” Coach Kathie Koch said. “Teana gave another stellar performance placing second on Vault, Beam, and Floor and in the All-Around. Emma Mann also had a great night winning Floor with her personal best score of 9.55.
Koch said freshman Katie Barker executed a fantastic bar routine
“Katie placed second after having a scary fall on that event during warm-ups. I was so proud of her ability to shake it off and compete with confidence.”
Other notable performances were turned in by Lexi Bernhoft who tied for third-place in Vault, Hana Roberto, who finished in a fourth-place tie with Heys in Bars, Portia Clemensen, who placed fourth in Floor and Sidney Mayes who finished sixth in All-Around.
Woodinville recorded 180.60 team points. North Creek tallied 173.45, Inglemoor posted 171 and Bothell finished with 160.85.
“We still have work to do and improvements we can make as we head into Districts and State,” Koch said. “The girls all know what they need to do and are ready to practice hard in the lead up to these meets.”
The first round of Districts takes place at Newport High School on Saturday, Feb.5. The time is yet to be determined.
