Woodinville grapplers recognized at banquet

The Falcons wrapped up a successful season honoring a handful of wrestlers at the annual banquet held Friday, Feb. 28.

Sophomore Simon Swan was named the Most Valuable Wrestler. Junior Robbie Northwick received Most Inspirational honors. Junior Turner Brogan was given Coaches’ Award distinction and freshman Zach Iverson was named Most Improved Wrestler.

For the girls’ it was freshman Eden Lopez receiving Most Valuable Wrestle recognition. Senior Bekah Denver was named Most Inspirational and freshman Ella Chicken received the Coaches’ Award. 

Woodinville boys and girls combined for a 17-6 dual meet record, qualified five wrestlers for Regionals and sent two grapplers to the Mat Classic State Tournament. The team also hosted its first ever tournament: The Lumber Yard Brawl.
