Duvall - Plant & Garden Art Sale - May 12th

  • Written by Valley View Staff
Gardeners Alert! Spring has sprung and gardeners everywhere are trimming, planting seeds, and dividing perennials. The Duvall Civic Club’s 46th Annual Plant and Garden Art Sale plus Craft Fair on May 12th will need bedding plants, vegetable starts, perennials, and small bushes and trees. As in the past, almost all of these items are donated by supporters of the Civic Club.
The Club is asking area gardeners to plant a few extra seeds, pot up extra perennial divisions, trees, and bushes and bring them to the Rose Room behind and below the Duvall Visitors Center (the old library) on May 10th and 11th. More information may be found online at
The Club was founded in 1929 and established the first library in the city. They raised money for the original building, which was built at a cost of $500. It opened in 1935 with a collection of 1500 books. The Duvall Friends of the Library is a direct descendant of the Civic Club. Other Duvall Civic Club community endeavors include scholarships for local high school graduates; support for Summer Stage, the Sno-Valley Senior Center, Duvall and Carnation Farmers' Markets, HopeLink, and the Riverview Education Foundation. One recent grant paid for a play structure at a local park. The Club welcomes new members. It meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Rose Room on the lower level of the Duvall Visitors Center from September through June. Visitors are always welcome.
