Oxbow’s Spring Nature Walk
May 11
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Oxbow’s Restoration & Volunteer Coordinator, Dawn Huss, for a bird and plant exploration around the Oxbow farm fields and restoration areas along the Snoqualmie River. We will identify the birds that we see and hear around us along with the trees and flowers that grow along the river bank. Come on our search for stately bald eagles, small but vocal Savannah and white-crowned sparrows, and deep pink Salmonberry flowers.
The terrain will be flat, but somewhat uneven; water-resistant, mud-friendly shoes are recommended. This trip is suitable for beginning (and beyond!) nature enthusiasts as well as families with older children. We recommend that children be 8 years of age or older and able to listen quietly so that everyone has a chance to hear the spring birdsong. Bring binoculars if you have them – a limited number will be available to borrow and we are happy to share.
The walk is limited to 20 people. Specific meeting location and day-of contact information will be shared once registered. Stay for the Oxbow Saturday festivities afterwards!
