  • Written by H Bondar

Life has gotten so complicated.

Computers in our pockets. 24/7 news (“fake” or “real”?). Cellphones and tablets and watches with apps. Facebook envy, 3AM tweets. Instagram, Snapchat and texting. “Alexa, turn off the lights.”

The 57th annual Duvall Days Festival is coming on June 3rd and there is something fun for everyone. Get ready to kick off summer at this classic event celebrating the “Small Town/Real Life” community spirit of Duvall.

Starting with a big parade at 10:30 on Saturday morning, Main Street is closed to traffic and becomes a pedestrian mall lined with vendor booths. Events and activities run all throughout the day and into the evening, and this year things are capped off with a music concert in McCormick Park, followed by the return of FIREWORKS after dark (by popular demand).

Come out and enjoy these family-friendly events and activities:

Music & Dance Performances
Beer Gardens
Climbing Wall
Live Music
Obstacle Course
Tours of Historic Dougherty Farmstead
Laser  Tag
Face Painting
Running of the Balls
Petting Zoo
Grand Parade
Mechanical Bull
Bouncy Houses
Art demonstrations
Zip Line
Food Trucks
Frog jump competition
Cow Pie Bingo
Shuttle buses to Big Rock Car Show
Knockerball Soccer

Sunday morning features a 5K run, a 10K run and the renowned Firefighters Pancake Breakfast served up inside the Duvall Fire House from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Turn off the Xbox and pick up a fork!

The festival planners are still accepting entrants for the kick-off parade. Entrants are judged by a team of local “experts” and honors are awarded for the most creative floats and performances. Great entries are already lined up – one of them is that classic Volkswagen known as Herbie the Love Bug.

If you would like to participate in the Duvall Days Festival – by performing on one of the stages, marching in the parade, hosting an event or activity, or offering your products or services in a vendor booth – please visit DuvallDays.org to find all the details and application forms. But do it soon, because time is running out.
This family-friendly, two day event is put on by a team of dedicated volunteers including members of the Duvall Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Duvall, with help from the city of Duvall.

The Duvall Days 2017 Committee would like to express their profound gratitude to the generous sponsors of this year’s festival, including Safeway (fireworks sponsor), Alpine Integrated Medicine, Duvall Veterinary Hospital, The Irwin Group, and the city of Duvall (Platinum Presenting sponsors), Kevin Hauglie Agency, Duvall Dental Center, and Toll Brothers (shuttle sponsors), Cascade Valley Designs, Duvall Print & Post, EF Prints, The Linnerooth Team Windermere Real Estate, Waste Management, and Wave Broadband (Gold Sponsors), American Family Insurance, Duvall Advanced Family Eyecare, CBS Tax & Accounting, Premier Orthodontics, Cherry Valley Winery, Macaroni Kid, and Wilderness Awareness School (Silver Sponsors), Snoqualmie Valley Music, The Valley View, and Valley Mail (Bronze Sponsors), as well as the dozens of volunteers who work together to make Duvall Days rock – thank you very much!
