Local farmstead creamery, Cherry Valley Dairy, is celebrating two big awards from the American Cheese Society National Conference for their famous grass-fed butters. Their Unsalted Cultured Butter took home second place and a third place honor was given to the Coffee Butter - made with Duvall roaster, Anchorhead Coffee beans.
The American Cheese Society Competition occurs every summer and this year attracted over two thousand cheese and dairy product entries from the US, Canada, Mexico and Columbia. Head Cheesemaker, Blain Hages followed the award ceremony online via live stream, "I'm really proud of our butters and it is such a rush to hear your name called for these prizes - even over the internet."
This is the second year in a row that these butters have taken home big prizes. The butter is cultured in the traditional European style and is known for its incredible flavor. The dairy's grass-fed Jersey cream provides signature deep-yellow color and heart healthy Omega-3s.
