Riverview Education Foundation’s FunRun committee is hard at work, preparing for the 9th annual races to benefit health and wellness programs in the Riverview School District. All indications point to a record one day event full of miles, smiles (and post-race pancakes at the 54th(!) annual Duvall Firefighter’s Breakfast just up the hill).
USATF certified courses include the flat and fast 5K, perfect for beginners, walkers AND speedsters. Woodinville’s own Eric Garner is the eight-time consecutive winner of the Duvall 5K!
There is also a hilly 10K route for those craving a challenge. The 10K features a steady climb to the neighborhoods above Duvall and a fast descent to the finish in McCormick Park. Last year marked the first year of The Irwin Group Half Marathon and it was so popular that it sold out.
For 2014, another 100 slots were added and there is still room – so come join us; our water station volunteer teams will be waiting to cheer you on and our school board members will be there to medal you at the finish line. And as always, the ever popular IRG Duvall Physical Therapy (FREE) Kids Dashes are always a post-race highlight. This year, shirts will be available for the trotting toddlers on raceday for a nominal ($5) fee.
Duvall’s certified races are part of the age-graded Snoqualmie Valley Cup featuring the coveted Top Male Runner and Top Female Runner awards as well as cash prizes.
There is no additional cost to compete – just participate in 3 of 4 races and you are automatically entered: Snoqualmie Cinco de Mayo (5/3), RunDuvall (6/1), Fall City Fun Runs (6/14) and Run for the Pies (7/4).
