Beer, it’s my opinion!

redhookWell, I have great news:  Our little backyard pub, Redhook, has officially reopened its doors after undergoing an extensive remodel that started in March.

If you haven’t been down to the Hook for a while, you may want to get on down there to check out their great work.  My publisher and I got the royal treatment for the grand reopening event on June 4.

The weather was perfect and the VIP treatment was fantastic: an hour early entry, hors d’oeuvres and beverages — all this because of my hard work. Even the wait staff was nice to me.

Of course the night wasn’t all about us. Redhook made a donation with proceeds of their grand opening ticket sales going to the Woodinville Firefighters Benevolent Fund.

Let’s all thank the fire department for all the work they do.

Our night would not have been complete without the addition of other local celebrities with whom we met up.

Our little group had piles of ribs, wings, pulled pork sliders and somebody even tried to slip some salad in there too. I know — weird.

We all had a great time. Redhook, thanks!

The new digs include a  bar which is nearly doubled in size and the expansion of their kitchen.

This definitely doesn’t look like the same place. For all the folks who have told me over the years they wished Redhook had fries with their tasty burgers, the wait is finally over!

The expanded kitchen now has fryers so we can get a bigger selection of traditional pub food such as fresh cut fries, wings and fish ’n chips.

They have also installed a new smoker so you can get a great choice of smoked meats, including fall-off-the-bone ribs, tender pulled pork and yes, even a smoked turkey leg. Delish!

Have you ever avoided going to the Hook because your date doesn’t do beer?

In the past, Redhook would have told you to dump ’em but with the remodel they now have a fully stocked bar to please your alcohol sensibilities. Your relationship is now safe — whew.

Along with the addition of the booze, Redhook has expanded its taps to feature guest taps and to share some beer brewed by the sister companies, Kona and Widmere. This is the time of the year to gather your friends and head on out to the patio and soak up the rays with an ice cold beer or a refreshing cocktail and share some laughs.

You might even see me there once in awhile, so stop by and say hello.

Prost!
