Celebrate Woodinville’s Summer Festival schedule of events

  • Written by Laurie Cook

Celebrate Woodinville’s inaugural Summer Festival will be held on Saturday, August 10, in downtown Woodinville.

Festivities will begin with the annual Woodinville Fire & Rescue pancake breakfast, followed by the 35th annual community parade and Basset Bash.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees will enjoy free music in the park, a wine and beer garden, local restaurants and food trucks, Woodinville farmers market, arts and crafts fair, exhibitors and children’s activities hosted by the Northshore YMCA.

Happy Birthday, Woodinville!

This year marks the City of Woodinville’s 20th birthday. As everyone knows, a huge party needs a huge cake! Come to Wilmot Gateway Park right after the parade to enjoy a slice of the city’s famous gigantic birthday cake, presented by the Woodinville City Council. Cake will be served starting at 12:30 p.m.
Woodinville Parade and Basset Bash

The 35th annual community parade will start at 11 a.m. on Garden Way and end at approximately noon at Mi Terra on NE 175th Street. Observers are invited to enjoy the parade from Garden Way and NE 175th. One person from each parade entry may check in any time between 8 and 10 a.m. Seafair marshals will be staging the line-up (marked in pink above map) on Woodinville-Snohomish Road, and you may park your vehicles by the railroad tracks.

In 1984, Woodinville added the “Basset Bash” event to the annual parade. This is a Basset hound-only contest with prizes awarded for attributes such as best waddle, best howl and longest ears. This year’s Basset Bash will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on the children’s playground at Wilmot Gateway Park.

Off-site event parking will be available at the following church parking lots: Woodinville Alliance Church on NE 166th Street and Woodinville Community Church on 140th Ave NE. Shuttle service will be provided.
