The Woodinville Heritage Museum will host local author Elsie Mann discussing her latest book, "Maltby and Neighbors," at a free public program Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m.
The program, sponsored by the Woodinville Heritage Society, takes place at the museum at 14121 NE 171st St., Woodinville. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
In addition to Maltby, the book covers other early settlements in south Snohomish County: Grace, Paradise Lake, Crystal Lake, Echo Lake, Cathcart, Clearview, Lost Lake and mention of Woodinville activities and sawmills. Numerous historic pictures and early plat maps document activities from the 1870s forward. Mann will cover some mysteries in local history, those she solved and those yet to emerge.
She won the 2013 Malstrom Award given for outstanding contributions in preserving Snohomish County history.
