Last Thursday, Donna Galstyan was honored as the Woodinville High School Student of the Month at a luncheon hosted by the Woodinville Chamber at DeLille Cellars.

Donna is a straight A student, and always shows up for school events and cheers on the team at sports. She is involved in many school activities and clubs, and founded the Physics Club to help students excel in their physics classes. Donna says her biggest passion in school is computer science.

“Donna and her family are so excited, so deserving to be getting this recognition, and our school is really excited about it,” said WHS Assistant Principal Madeline Mason.

A first-generation immigrant, Donna and her family moved to the U.S. from Armenia when she was in middle school. They moved to Woodinville in Donna’s sophomore year.

Around that time, she began volunteering at the Holy Resurrection Armenian Apostolic Church in Redmond.

“I’m the bridge between my family, my culture and my future,” Donna said. “My little sister and I feel honored and blessed to have these opportunities, and we acknowledge the sacrifices made along the way.”

In the future, Donna plans to go to a university to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
