Homeward Pet dog room undergoes full remodel

by Weekly staff

Homeward Pet Adoption Center began undertaking a full remodel of its dog room on Jan. 16, according to a release by the center.

The new dog room will be centered around Fear Free Sheltering, which involves “making decisions to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets during every interaction,” the release states.

Larger kennels with new layouts will improve the quality of life and care for dogs at Homeward Pet.

The project is funded by ASPCA Northern Tier Shelter Initiative, Amazon Pets, and individual donors.

During the remodel, dogs at the center are temporarily placed in foster homes, but are still available for adoption.

The remodel will be completed by the end of February.
