Stolen dogs found safe in Vancouver
On Saturday, Jan. 21, four show dogs were stolen along with a van from a hotel parking lot in Portland, Oregon, the Associated Press reported. Two of the dogs and the van were owned by Vandra Huber of Woodinville.
Three Scottish terriers and one cairn terrier were stolen, police said.
A community member found the van abandoned with the dogs inside on the road in Vancouver, Washington the following morning, The Seattle Times reported.
The owners were in the area for the Rose City Classic Winter Dog Show at the Portland Expo Center, police said.
Ed Cook, the owner of the other two dogs, had left the van running in front of the hotel while he stepped inside to tell his colleagues it was time to leave, The Times reported. The van was stolen in that brief period.
