Woodinville boys basketball still in the hunt
After falling to Mariner High School 72-62 Feb. 11, the Woodinville boys’ basketball team hosted the Lake Stevens Vikings in a loser-out game at the WIAA District 1/2 4A Boys Basketball Tournament at Woodinville High School. The 10-team tournament began Feb. 9.
Against Lake Stevens, the Falcons escaped with a 74-67 win to advance in the tournament.
The win improved the boy’s record to 18-5, keeping their hopes alive for a state tournament.
At press time, six of the 10 teams remain. In the Feb. 17 championship game, No. 1 seed Mount Si will tip off at 8:30 p.m. at Everett Community College. Both teams will advance to the WIAA state tournament.
On Feb. 16, No. 5 Mariner High School will tip off at 4:30 p.m. against No. 2 seed Jackson High School at Lake Washington High School.
Following the Mariner vs. Jackson game, Woodinville will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Washington High School against conference foe Skyline High School. The winner will advance to the WIAA state tournament.
