Falcon boys’ basketball closes out season

The Woodinville Falcons boys’ basketball team fell one game short of the WIAA 4A Boys Basketball Tournament following a 76-72 loss to rival Skyline on Feb. 16 at Lake Washington High School.

The loss was Woodinville’s third loss of the season to Skyline. On Jan. 14, Skyline defeated Woodinville 76-72. On Feb. 2, Skyline defeated Woodinville 54-49. Both games were conference losses.

The district tournament loss caps an outstanding 2022-23 season. Woodinville finished with an 18-7 record and scored an average 63.7 points per game, while only allowing an average 54.6 points a game to their opponents.

Mount Si defeated Issaquah 56-40 in the championship game. Both teams advance to the state tournament. Mariner defeated Jackson 75-74 and advanced to the state tournament along with Skyline.
