The Story of the Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway
The Woodinville Heritage Society will present a community program that details the history of this Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway. Operating for 29 years, the Seattle-Everett Interurban Trolley traveled over 29 miles of rail carrying passengers and freight to nearly 30 stops along its line.
This free program Saturday, April 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. featuring Cheri Ryan and Kevin Stadler, will be held at Brightwater Education Center, 22505 State Route 9 (Woodinville-Snohomish Rd), just north of Costco.
Ryan and Stadler are sister and brother authors who grew up in Alderwood Manor, once an important stop on the interurban route. They have done extensive research on the area and have gathered numerous images that tell the story of the early railway. Both are members of numerous historic preservation organizations.
