Stanley “Chris” King | 1950 – 2024
On January 8, 2024, after battling cancer, avid golfer Chris King made and kept a tee time at Heaven’s Golf Course. His Celebration of Life will occur on Feb. 17, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 21 Acres Center, located at 13701 NE 171st Street, Woodinville, Wash. You are invited to at- tend and share your stories of adventure (or misadventure) with Chris. Please dress casually; golf (Caddy- shack) or WSU Cougar attire is encouraged. Born on September 8, 1950, Chris was a loving husband and father. Chris was preceded in death by his two children, daughter Kathryn “Katie” Anne and son Andrew Russell; his parents, Stanley and Emma King; and his brothers, “Mike” Michael Gunter and “Jeff ” Jeffrey Gunter. He is survived by his wife, Karen King, and daughter, Lindsey King, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Growing up in the community of PeEll, Washing ton, Chris attended PeEll School, then Olympic Junior College in Bremerton, and Washington State University, earning a degree in Business Administration, Class of 1973. Chris began his career in the insurance industry in Seattle. His career soon moved him to San Francisco, where he met Karen. They were married in 1979 and began their life together in Concord, California, where their three children were born. In 1986, a new job brought Chris, Karen, Lindsey, and Andrew to Washington, where they settled in Woodinville. Chris’ relaxation time was spent playing golf, a game he loved. Chris’ life was well-lived. His presence and far-ranging humor will be greatly missed by family, friends, and community. Your love, warm thoughts, and prayers for Karen, Lindsey, and their extended family are appreciated.
