Linda Kay Harms passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2024 in Kirkland WA. Linda lived life to the fullest up until the last week of her life, where she succumbed to a major stroke and stage 4 cancer.
Born on October 14, 1948 in Salt Lake City Utah. Linda was the daughter of Herman and Lorraine Harms. She spent her early years in Salt Lake City before the family moved to Bellevue, WA in 1956.
Linda graduated from Newport High School in 1966. She earned a degree in Education from the University of Washington in 1971, where she was a proud member of Phi Mu Sorority. Linda had a "fun job" as a civilian at the Navy Recruiting District in Seattle.
In 1975 Linda met Norman Johnson, the love of her life. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and joy in Bothell, Washington. Known affectionately as "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood", close lifelong friendships developed in that idyllic neighborhood. The epitome of a friend and hostess, Linda always had an open door. Whether she had known you for years or just met you, she welcomed you with open arms. Many fun gatherings were held throughout the years!
After Norm's passing in 2011, Linda continued to embrace life with her characteristic optimism and energy. Linda found joy in golf, bike riding, gatherings with friends and family as well as her work at QFC. In 2023 Linda thoroughly loved working with Preschoolers at Cedar Park Christian School.
She was a faithful servant of Christ and shared His love with everyone she encountered. A member of Cedar Park Church, Linda's faith was central to her life. Always a smile, Linda had an incredible way of keeping things in perspective with her optimism and positivity. She radiated joy. She always made everyone feel welcome; like you were the most important person in the room. Linda was selfless and put others first. She was fun loving, outgoing, vivacious. A true example to so many and a shining light to all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her sister, Susan Harms; niece, Jenny Finley (Adam); nephew, Scott W. Jensen; Great Aunt to Grace and Thomas Finley, Cousin to Roger Curran (Terry). She also leaves behind countless friends who were touched by her love and unwavering loyalty. Many who called her their "Best Friend," "Aunt Linda" "Mom or Mama Linda"! She truly was by far the best sister and aunt anyone could ask for!
When you think of Linda, celebrate the good memories you have of her. The family encourages you to carry Linda's spirit by remembering what is important in this life and sharing more joy and love with one another.
